Franciscan Feast Days

The Catholic Church follows a universal liturgical calendar to guide dioceses and parishes in the celebration of Sunday and daily Masses throughout the year. When a religious order has pastoral care of a parish, as the Franciscan Friars do here at Sacred Heart, a special liturgical calendar is also observed.

The Roman-Franciscan Liturgical Calendar includes the universal celebrations of the Church, feasts of particular importance in the United States, and celebrations especially meaningful to the Franciscan tradition.

Several of these key celebrations are highlighted here to help deepen our understanding and appreciation of the Franciscan legacy that continues to shape the life and mission of Sacred Heart.
